Youth Mentorship Program
The Al Ritchie Community Associations Youth Mentorship Program aims to engage children and youth in intentional, productive and unique opportunities while recognizing and enhancing their interests and strengths. This Program promotes positive outcomes for youth by providing exciting opportunities, fostering positive relationships, and giving the support that is needed to develop positive skills, interests and outlooks while reducing the potential for risky behavior.

Youth Cook & Eat
Brunch Edition!
Youth cook & eat is a community based cooking program that focuses on the development of cooking skills, food safety and nutritional literacy in children and youth ages 5-15.
In this 6 week program, youth will spend two hours each week learning to cook a delicious and nutritious brunch with our certified cooking instructor, then sit down to enjoy their creation with their peers! Pre-registration required, limited spaces available.

Dance & Free Movement Fundamentals
This foundational class explores movement, expression, musicality, posture, and stretch in a safe and welcoming environment. This teacher-led class will introduce concepts such as improvisations and visualization techniques and an introduction to classical ballet foundations. The benefits of dance can help build physical and emotional strength, stamina, balance, and range of motion.
No dance experience necessary!

Summer Jam
Summer Jam is an inclusive summer child care program that offers leader facilitated play and exploration opportunities that help foster life skills, creativity, imagination and physical activity, while having fun!

Learn to Skate
Are you new to the ice? Or have some experience skating but want to expand your skills? Come join the Al Ritchie learn to skate program where fundamental skill development is at the core in a fun, safe and welcoming environment. Built around three learning outcomes of balance, control and agility, this 6 week program will ensure success in developing the well-rounded skill development needed to take part in any ice sport or to skate recreationally. No skating experience is required, previous skating experience is welcomed! Skates and helmet rentals are available upon request. This class is delivered by nationally certified and trained coaches. Limited spaces available!

Home Alone Course
The home alone course is designed to provide children 10 years of age and older with the necessary skills and knowledge to be safe and responsible when home alone for short periods of time. It will help them understand how to prevent problems, handle real-life situations, and keep them safe and constructively occupied.

Babysitting Course
Babysitting is a job with significant responsibility and the Babysitting Course helps prospective babysitters learn the skills they need.
This course is for youth aged 11 to 15 years old. It teaches the new babysitter the necessary skills to provide care to children in a variety of situations.
The course emphasizes safety rules, responding to emergencies, and developing leadership skills.
